Found this bug on my mango tree. I had never seen before and had a hard time identifying the bug. The internet has endless resources but can be hard to find an answer if you do not know what to look for. A good resource are interest groups like the countless groups in Facebook. I finally identified the bug through a local gardening group where a couple of the members knew what they were. Here is a link for some information on the bug University of Florida Tree Cattle (source). These insects are considered harmless and somewhat beneficial so I let them keep their home. After a couples of days there was no sign of the bugs. Perhaps with the rain they left.
